Errors with the new map, facewan_hugeflatmap..!

Hey guys,

Now I realize that I haven't posted much here on the forum, but many of you should know me from in game..so well...

Now, I have always had problems running gmod9, lot of application errors and stuff... Now, I haven't played for around or month or something, but decided to go on yesterday, missed you great guys :p

Well, anyway, now I started getting Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime errors, but they come only now and then, kinda random...when joining the server, mostly at the part of Retrieving Server Info, or whatever it's called. Well, anyway, WHEN I get past that (Works mostly in the evening) I get an application error while downloading facewan_hugeflatmap.ain in hl2.exe, but if I'm lucky, I get all the way to the point of spawning, but gets an application error right away.

Currently I am de fragmenting my HDD, and correct some various problems, so will try when it is done.

Nevertheless, if anyone can give me a clue on how to solve my issues, I would be grateful. Also, if anyone could send me the map files, that would be great too.

Well, thanks in advance,

-Arti

I've never head of this issue before, but it sounds like its having an issue downloading the ain file for the map. I'm thinking its something with your computer, since you said you were having other problems. Anyway, if it still does the same thing after, post some more info on when it happens and the specific error.

As I see it, I think I have the problem of downloading the file as you mention, since, when downloading it, I get an application error from my antivirus o.O And then a runtime error from hl2.exe...So defragging didn't help..currently checking out some other stuff, cleaning a bit, will return with some more info..

Oh yeah, any chance you could get me the files Espeon?

Maybe your anti-virus sucks and you have a virus.
I think you should try another antivirus or reinstall your current antivirus.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security...doesn't come any better xD

Anyway, apparently the problem was my virtual memory..was set to a custom rate optimized for Morrowind...just remembered that, and apparently it helped, no application errors or runtime errors in anything at all, I'm actually in game now...sorta...cause I can't spawn xD

Nevermind, just spawned now xD

It's not the map, It's the idiots who copygun extremely huge things and then spawn them, thats the source of all the lag. This map is ALOT better on frame rate and lag, it has less lag then hugeflatmap_v4 because of the way it was compiled.

That was on facewan_hugeflatmap_v3, that issue was fixed on facewan_hugeflatmap_v4.
