parachutes or not?...good idea or not?

Okay so recently i have been going around different surf servers and looking at the different modules they have...and there is this one particular module that had really caught my eye and that is to have parachute. so what would happen is that you would surf like normally and when you pressed e it opened a parachute while you're falling in the air. now with it open you were able to glide almost anywhere in the map if you had caught a ramp glitch and you opened it you could possibly save your self by landing on a platform. now every map had obstacles like you couldn't fly to high or that if you did you would have to end up falling a bout to fit in the space given to surf. i loved the idea of being able to fly a bit with parachutes. the only way to actually glide is that you would have have to gain speed and air by surfing. only then can you glide and strafe in the air. if you were to just jump and open it.. wouldn't do you much good. i'm hoping to see if i can get this approved be the sm's and approved by people on the dm server because with out approval they might not like it and leave and that is what i don't want happening.

Parachutes for the surf DM server. You can press E mid air and open it to avoid fall damage.

I'm down with this.
Just make sure all skill maps (Even remotely skill) are removed. Because with this, the possibility to cheat is quite big

It's meant just for DM though so we wouldn't need to worry about people cheating on skill maps.

I think the best thing to do would be to try it on the server for one day to see how it works.

Also, this vote is pointless. Pretty much everybody who voted is an admin. We need the opinions of actual players.

Lol no.. It doesn't keep your speed. It just lets you survive falling and surf DM will instantly become dead because of that mod.

An explanation of how it will instantly become dead would be pretty cool.

And if it doesn't keep your speed, then that makes it quite balanced then.

I've used the parachute mod before (and installed it)
You take no fall damage as it slows your vertical speed but the momentum you gain for going forward (or strafing) stays the same.

I personally think it would be okay even though you could probably parachute and glide onto otherwise impossible high locations. Therefor, "glitching" maps to get to really high pointless locations where people would just camp with an awp.

Kodi, instead of arguing back to people trying to get them to take your side. Why not get regulars from Surf DM to post their opinion here on the forums. This whole debate is still with admins only essentially.

I'd like to see a voting system, so the players themselves can choose each map whether they want it on or not, you could even play it once, and go back to it with the mod off.

Ehh... Players will easily get to the end of the maps without surfing. And imagine new camping places where anyone will be able to get.

It's not like any of the surf DM maps actually require skill to surf through. You're acting like it's going on the regular surf server where people could use it on skill maps when in reality it's only meant for DM.

As for new camping spots, who cares if it's a new spot or not? Campers are supposed to be banned regardless of where they camp. And besides, most of the maps provide camping spots that are better than what players can find on their own. Regardless of parachutes or not, campers are always going to be camping. You cannot change that, you can only punish them.

True, maybe it's because I just can't combine surfing and parachute mod even in my mind.
